About the Lakeside Gnomes...

At Lakeside, you don't see the gnomes, but you know they're about.  Gnomes are responsible for keeping the woods tidy, and helping the injured creatures.  They have no other reason to exist.  It's in their genetic makeup.      Not these gnomes.

Often on a summer Saturday or Sunday morning, a stroll down to the dock provides evidence that the little buggers have been doing just the opposite. Tiki torches smoldering, cans and bottles littering the place, chairs knocked over, inner tubes floating around in the water, and food scraps on everything in sight. Evidently, labels on beer bottles are to gnomes like balls of yarn to cats.

In the distance, a mortally wounded animal howls.  It will die alone.  No help is coming. The gnomes are sleeping in on this day.  They can't save the world,.. not even a little part of it.

Glorified and heralded in literature for eons, they are nothing more than vagrants, parasites actually.  A blight on the face of the earth.  If they weren't so boney, and we could find the proper seasoning, gnomes should soon be extinct.

They mock us, but our turn is coming...

During a recent excursion around the area looking for sign's that summer's coming; ferns opening, different flowers blooming, geese nesting, etc., I happened on this little gnome dwelling.  I wouldn't want to reveal its whereabouts, but the next time the gnomes pull their crap... it's payback time!  I'm sure some careful investigation will lead to discovering the location of some more of theses little houses, and once we know where they live, they better start behaving or they may have a series of "accidents".
